The only game where the defense puts the ball into play and controls it. A game where you can fail 7 out of 10 times and still be considered a good performer. A game where you have to be a grown man to play professionally but you have to have a lot of kid in you to play it. It is a metaphor of man. It's filled with imperfections and flaws which makes the game beautiful. It's, to my opinion, the greatest game ever invented. Baseball is life.

Super Nova To Become A Starter In Incomplete Yankees Rotation

The Yankees go into this Spring with questions about the back end of the starting rotation. Although, no matter how many times you ask Yankees Manager, Joe Girardi, who will be the fourth and fifth starters, he will never tell you until he absolutely has to. Joe Girardi and Yankees GM Brian Cashman made it quite clear that they will take their time trying to evaluate their pitchers which include prospect pitchers Manny Banuelos, and Dellin Betances, who will probably be starting the season in Double A Trenton. So they can be ruled out. That being said, who do they have left as far as starting pitching goes? If you watched the Yankees last season, I'm sure you've seen a young Ivan Nova pitching a great first 4-5 innings before falling apart in the 6th. The good thing about him is it looks like the Yankees have solved Nova's late inning troubles. Yeah, that's the same guy who threw chin music to Jose Bautista and didn't back down when Bautista challenged him. On March 16th, Nova pitched struck out four batters in six no-hit innings. He only allowed two men on base after hitting a batter with a wild curveball on the second pitch of the game and an error by Alex Rodriguez. He handed the ball off to Mariano Rivera who allowed the only hit, a double by Vladimir Guerrero. Then the Yankees rounded out the game with Mark Prior in the eighth and David Robertson in the ninth. If Nova’s last start didn’t seal his spot in the rotation, I don’t know what will. All I know is if he pitches like his last start through the rest of Spring Training, Nova will have a definite spot in the rotation.
